A city plan read as geometry, the nine square figure behind Jaipur

Project Mandala

Jaipur, India · 2024 to present

A city at three hundred, read through the geometry it was founded on.

What the ground was

Jaipur, laid out in 1727 on a nine square plan derived from a mandala, approaching its three hundredth year with growth pressing on every edge.

What was made

Jaipur300: an ecological and cultural vision that returns to the founding geometry and works outward from it, across future habitats, creativity, regeneration and public life.

What changed

The city's own figure now carries the argument. Proposals arrive as a recovery of something residents already recognise rather than as an import.
